Anne Downs majored in art at the University of Maryland and in 1965 studied in Paris with College Art Study Abroad. In 1966 she received a B.A. of Fine Arts from Goucher College. She did her graduate work in Art History at Johns Hopkins University and studied painting and printmaking at UCLA and UC Santa Cruz. She has studied watercolor with Nancy Johnson at Monterey Peninsula College. Her career in art includes work at the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Carmel Art Association and the Joseph Bottoms Art Gallery on Cannery Row.

Anne’s artwork has been in numerous exhibitions and is in private and corporate collections including the Sumitomo Corporation, the Philippine Embassy, Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula, Robert Perkey and Motel Inverness.
